In order to anticipate the various possibilities that occur at times that will come when this PMI is developing a Community Based Program Disaster Preparedness (Community Based Disaster Preparedness). This program is intended to encourage the empowerment of communities to alert the capacity to prevent and reduce disaster impacts and risks that occur in the environment. This is very important because the public as the party directly affected in case of disaster.

Toothache

Dental cavities are not caused by worms such as the opinion of those in the past. But caused by a meeting between the bacteria and sugar. Bacteria will convert sugar from food into acids that residual environmental causes teeth to become acidic (environmental natural teeth are supposed to be alkaline) and acid is what ultimately makes a small hole in the tooth enamel.

When a hole occurs in tooth enamel, we have not felt a toothache. However, the small hole next to the email can be a gap remaining food and the bacteria will make a bigger hole to punch dentin. At this time we will feel a shooting pain in the teeth when eating. If allowed, the hole until the hole will be nervous that we will begin to experience a toothache. Lets be Disaster Preparedness

Children are undoubtedly one of the most vulnerable groups affected by disasters. A large number of children are suffered, injured or even loss their life in various disasters all over the world. This vulnerability is a result of peoples limited understanding about hazard risks around their environment, which causes lack of preparedness in dealing with disaster. Disaster Preparedness Awareness in School To promote disaster preparedness and risk reduction concepts in school education, IRC mobilises members of Youth Red Cross (Youth Red Cross – YRC) networking and volunteers in 33 provinces. Started from the end of 2006, IRC has implemented Disaster Preparedness Awareness in School Program as its efforts to promote disaster preparedness and risk reduction concept for children and youth. IRC Ambulance Service

As a social organization has a strong commitment to carry out social-humanity activities with participation from volunteers as the organization strength and able to handle accident casualties as well as emergency cases and evacuate them to the nearest medical facility. IRC always developing cooperation and partnership with institution operates in medical service such as Public Health Center (PHC), medication post, health clinics, hospital and several ambulance services.

The ambulance service is one of IRC humanity service. Many IRC branches longing for this facility as a means of emergency service in order to transport patient immediately from IRC Base or IRC Ambulance Post to the hospital.  Continue reading

IRC INVOLVES ON AVIAN FLU PANDEMIC PREVETION

Against Avian Influenza Campaign Since H5N1 bird flu attacked Hong Kong in 1997 and spreading fast around the world whilst taking so many casualties, Indonesian Red Cross (IRC) as humanitarian organization has been assisting Indonesian government to cope with bird flu cases in Indonesia. Five days after Indonesian government declared bird flu as Extraordinary Event in Indonesia, in 24 September 2005 IRC Chairman announced IRC participation by launching public awareness strategy, poultry infection prevention strategy, and assisting in surveillance strategy.
